How to obtain funding to publish translations of Irish poets

June 22, 2009
If you plan on publishing a volume of poems by an Irish poet translated into a language other than Irish or English, or if you plan on producing an anthology of Irish poets or a special Irish edition of a literary periodical, you may be able to obtain funding to cover the costs of the translator's fees.
Ireland Literature Exchange is an Irish organisation charged with the responsibility of promoting the publication of Irish writers in translation. They also offer residential bursaries to foreign translators of Irish literature. Full details on qualifying criteria and application procedures can be found at www.irelandliterature.com.

If you wish to make contact with any of the Irish poets on this domain with the aim of involving them in a translation project you may initiate contact through the Munster Literature Centre www.munsterlit.ie.
