Norwegian poet Triztan Vindtorn dies
March 09, 2009
Poet Kjell Erik Vindtorn, known as Triztan Vindtorn, died suddenly and unexpectedly in his home on 4 March 2009, aged 66. He was considered to be the finest Norwegian surrealistic poet and was well known for his performances.
He made his debut in 1970 with the collection Sentrifuge (Centrifuge) and subsequently published books that were inspired by his travels to China and the years he spent in Copenhagen. In 1999, he changed his name to Triztan, the name of his favourite bar on Ibiza, where he lived for some time.
His last volume of poetry, Sirkus for usynlige elefanter (Circus for Invisible Elephants), was published in 2008.
