National Book Awards poetry prize awarded to Mark Doty

The winner of the National Book Award in poetry is American poet Mark Doty for Fire to Fire: New and Collected Poems (HarperCollins). The National Book Awards were established in the USA in 1950 and are given to recognize achievements in four genres: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and young people's literature. The winners, selected by independent judging panels for each genre, each receive a $10,000 cash award.
