Join the Space Poem Chain

August 01, 2007
The Space Poem Chain, a multi-authored poem originating in Japan from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, is an attempt to create a cooperative space through words and the universe, transcending boundaries of nation, generations, and specializations.
The organizers are calling for public entries to the current chain, ‘There are stars’, over the internet.

A chain of 24 poems will be compiled with the poet Makoto Ooka as judge. For the third phase (FY 2008), the organizers are planning to compile a Space Poem Chain incorporating verses written by JAXA astronauts aboard Kibo during the long-term expeditions set to begin in 2008.
