The competition has been running across our social media channels, offering poets of all levels the chance to have their work featured by Poetry International.

Send us your original poem via direct message (DM) on any of our social media platforms. We accept submissions in both English and Dutch! -
Share the Competition Post
Once you’ve entered, help us spread the word by sharing our competition post on your profile. Be sure to tag us in your post so we can see it! -
Use the Hashtag #PoetryWithYou
Don’t forget to use the hashtag #PoetryWithYou when sharing, so we can easily find your entry and keep the poetry community connected.

Meet the winners of Poetry with You!
Carolyne Afroetry
Carolyne M. Acen(Afroetry) is a Ugandan poet, spoken word poet,
activist and the founder of Echo Minds Poets, an all-female performance
poetry collective that spotlights the African woman’s story.
She is the author of Dry parched land and Married to society.
She was shortlisted for the Haiku Africa prize in 2017. She was nominated
for the Janzi Awards under the outstanding spoken word category (2021),
and The women in talent award( HerWit Awards 2023)
Her work has appeared in Amnesty International activism podcast,
Atlas of transitions biennial festival in Italy, bodies, unprotected festival
in Frankfurt, Writers Space Africa and Afro-women poetry project.

Jasmijn Lobik
Jasmijn Lobik is a poet and writer from Rotterdam
who explores themes like loneliness, friendship and the gap between
our inner life and outward appearance. Her poetry and stories have
appeared in Op Ruwe Planken, De Optimist, and Hyster-X, and in the
summer of 2024, she performed as an upcoming talent at Dichters in
de Prinsentuin. In 2023, she received the AMAI Jury Award for Best Poem
and won the Rotterdam poetry prize, Dichtwerk.
