The Scattered Feminine
After two years of pandemic restrictions, Poetry International returns to its traditional form, inviting poets from all over the world to share their poetry and their ideas with us in Rotterdam. This year’s festival will feature a large number of female poets whose work is as clear and critical as it is empathetic and compelling. Though having a female body is in many ways a universal thing, it is nevertheless associated with different experiences, rules and rituals in different places around the world. Festival poets from all over the world - Kim Yideum, Safia Elhillo en Laura Jane Lee - will tell us how this influences their poetry, and how their poetry in turn influences them and the world around them.
