Thanks for Listening: Ode to K. Schippers
As we focus plenty of attention on the poets who colour the landscape of Dutch poetry today, we will also stop to consider the poets who first laid out this landscape. One of them was Gerard Stigter, better known by his pseudonym K. Schippers (1936-2021). Schippers was an absolute allrounder: a poet, novelist, essayist, filmmaker and founder of the dadaist magazine Barbarber. He viewed life through a curved mirror, as it were, managed to express everything just that little bit differently, highlighting subtleties that passed others by, immortalising moments that would otherwise be lost. In this programme, friends and fellow poets will pay tribute to this smart, genial poet whom we sadly lost during the past year.
Featuring Gershwin Bonevacia and K. Michel, host: Jan Baeke.
