About Gonca Özmen
Gonca Özmen (Turkey, 1982) is one of the most famous and remarkable Turkish female poets of her generation and now in town especially for Poetry International Rotterdam. Her poems are playful, rhythmic and original, in a language that reflects and breaks traditions, sometimes even in the same sentence. About Nazmiye Oral
Nazmiye Oral (Turkey, 1969) interviews Gonca. Nazmiye is a theater maker, writer and actress and was previously at Belvédère with theater platform Zina, which she co-founded with Adelheid Roosen. She is also known for the play Not Without You, which she co-starred in with her mother Havva. In 2020 she was one of the main guests in the television program Zomergasten. In her work Oral is always looking for how you can relate to dissenters without denying yourself. In the Summer Guests she searched especially for the connection, because 'being human, that takes quite some practice'.
