SUN ON MY FACE
SUN ON MY FACE
SUN ON MY FACE
Sun on my face
Milk of my life
Love and kindness beholden,
Sing me your gentle song
Quench the anger in me
Cleanse my mind of delusions
Let me rest my aching head
On your warm breast
And listen to the throb of life.
See my sail is up
Fluttering in the setting sun
Of unfinished intents
And half-run errands.
But ere I go
Seal my eyes
With your gentle kiss;
Softly
Wipe away the bitterness
From my brow.
Heal my soul, and
Calm the rage of betrayals.
And when I go
Keep watch over me
And light my path
With your love
Light of my eye.
Milk of my life
Love and kindness beholden,
Sing me your gentle song
Quench the anger in me
Cleanse my mind of delusions
Let me rest my aching head
On your warm breast
And listen to the throb of life.
See my sail is up
Fluttering in the setting sun
Of unfinished intents
And half-run errands.
But ere I go
Seal my eyes
With your gentle kiss;
Softly
Wipe away the bitterness
From my brow.
Heal my soul, and
Calm the rage of betrayals.
And when I go
Keep watch over me
And light my path
With your love
Light of my eye.
