Pope John Paul II to publish book of poetry

18 januari 2006
Pope John Paul II is to publish a book of poetry which is said to include his thoughts on the choosing of his successor.
The book, provisionally entitled The Rome Triptych: The Meditations of John Paul II, is expected to be published in his native Poland later this month, The Guardian reported last Thursday.

"John Paul's work is a poetic meditation about themes of finality, a last will of sorts," the Catholic Information Agency announced. Although he has not published any poetry since becoming pontiff in 1978, the Pope was a prolific poet and playwright in his early days as a priest, bishop and cardinal in Poland.
