Poetry is popular, but it doesn't sell

'Taalschrift', a Dutch magazine about language and language policy, concludes that despite poetry's increasing popularity in The Netherlands, it doesn't sell much. Willy Tibergien, director of the Poetry Centre in Gent, Belgium, explains that one of the reasons for this trend is the rise of the internet and new media. All the same, Tibergien also asserts that people prefer to read poetry on paper. The article provides statistics as well as facts and figures about poetry in The Netherlands.
