Editorial intern wanted

November 14, 2013
Editorial intern | 16 hours a week Poetry International is looking for an editorial intern! This person will work two days a week with the central editor and webmaster in the run-up to and during the Poetry International Festival in Rotterdam (10-14 June 2014). Hours are flexible, though the editorial intern is expected to work from the office in Rotterdam one day a week.
The editorial intern reports directly to Megen Molé, the central editor. Responsibilities include a wide range of tasks, such as writing articles and updates, translating text, proofreading festival material for its compliance with the house style and uploading it to the website, managing the festival blog, and handling a number of Poetry International’s social media updates. In return we can offer a diverse and friendly working environment, the opportunity to build valuable work experience with an internationally recognised poetry organisation, and the chance to meet established and up-and-coming artists from around the world.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • • has an excellent command of English
  • • has exceptional writing and editing skills
  • • is obsessed with factual accuracy
  • • has sharp analytical skills

  • • has a high level of familiarity with Facebook and Twitter
  • • is comfortable with flexible working hours
  • • loves poetry and language in general
  • • has a working command of Dutch
If you meet some or all of these qualifications, please send an e-mail to mole@poetry.nl with your CV and a brief letter of motivation introducing yourself and explaining why you want to work for Poetry International. Selected applicants will be invited for a short interview. The position will remain open until we find a suitable candidate.
